Bienvenido a nuestro blog de ​​clase español!  Welcome to our Spanish Class blog!

Here is your first major assignment.  This assignment is due MONDAY SEPTEMBER 18th.   NO EXCEPTIONS.  NO EXCUSES.

Here's what you have to do.

1.  CLICK HERE for a link to a list of the 21 Spanish-speaking countries in the world.  Select a country that you would like to research.  Please note that no more than TWO people may research each country.

2.  EMAIL ME at michael.tesler@wjps.org as soon as you've figured out which country you would like to research.  Please note that this is going to be done on a "first-come, first-served" In other words, if you don't select a country quickly, someone else can take it.

3.  Listed below are some of the things I'd like you to find out about your country:

  • Name and flag
  • Country Map and Geography
  • Country's history and traditions
  • Major cities
  • Population, religion, etc..
  • Major sports
  • Traditional food and drink.
  • Famous People
  • Other important information:  Any other significant, interesting facts you think are worth mentioning
4. As you gather this information, compile a series of pictures that you will to visually represent your research.  

5.  On a piece of poster paper, attach those pictures, or images. Try to use a colored piece of poster paper if possible. Arrange them in any manner you like (a collage, cut-outs, etc.). Make your presentation eye-catching and appealing; something that you would be proud to present to your classmates, parents, etc.

Rosetta Stone Info

Buenos Dias, Estudiantes.

Rosetta Stone is now up and running for our class.  In order to use Rosetta Stone correctly, you will need to purchase a pair of USB Headphones with a microphone.   They are not unlike the ones you would use for a gaming console.  They are available at most electronic stores, like Radio Shack, Best Buy, and big stores like Target, or Wal-Mart.

Your login is the first letter of your first name, followed by your last name

Example: ljames

If your the first letter and your last name are LESS THAN 6 CHARACTERS, you will use the first two letters of your last name.

Your password is your 9-digit OSIS (ID) #

Please note that effective MONDAY SEPT. 11th, all Spanish students must have headphones for this class.

Spanish HW 9/23/2013

Hello, Espanol-ers!

Here's your HW for 9/23/2013.

1.  Review your notes on numbers and time.

2.  Complete the exercises from the workbook on pp. 7-9 (Empecemos!).  Counting the table of contents, it's actually pp. 11, 12, 13.  Here's a link to the exercises. 

3.  If you haven't done so already, please purchase the USB headphones for Rosetta Stone.   As soon as you have the headphones, we can start the Rosetta Stone program.
